Some random junk (NWS)

So, I finished my book, The Mammoth Hunters, and th ending made me cry more then I think any other book has. Not in a bad way, they were good tears, but it really was a good ending to a book. I’ve already started the Plains of Passage, which is good so far. I like Jean Auel’s writing style, but sometimes she explains things like she’s talking to a three year old and that can get on my nerves. It makes me want to skip ahead half a page and see if she’s past it. :p

Also, I sent out this survery a few days (maybe a week back) that my grandmother had sent me and I didn’t bcc people, I just cc’d people. And this was a huge, HUGE mistake. My older brother replies all with some vulgar but not awful things, things I didn’t really want my grandmother’s seeing but I’ll live. And then his Dad sent out this email with the F word every other sentence. You want to talk about embaressed, geez. Neither of my g’mothers are easily offended and they will throw out a shit every now and then and certainly a damn it, but this email was just below the belt for total shock value.  Would you want your g’parents seeing this? Not to include friends and other family members, some of which don’t even know these people.

Here’s the email Alex sent out.

If I don’t know you, I don’t want you to know about me. If that seems cold, fuck you. If you still want to know something about me after that we can probably talk. If I offended, fuck you again.

If you do know me, all of your assumptions are wrong.

If you and I are/were married I promise you take for granted all the times I didn’t disappoint you.

If we just slept together, you were great, the best I ever had, and I swear you looked at LEAST 15. What was your name again?

For those of you who reply to all; thank you. I’ve decided to take up serial killing again and I needed a semi random list to start with.

Love always,

The 13th Monkey

Book repair

Filed under: Books, crafts — Holly @ 20:43

So, my dollar book is falling apart and I want to fix it, so I can finish reading it. So, here’s what I’ve done. We’re on round 2.
 book 02 book 01
The cover is fixed!
 book 03
Now for the pages that are falling out… The back is kind of bowed, so I wrapped a knitting needle in paper towels and then rubber banded it back together.. then I put a crap ton of book on top of it.

Now I keep my fingers crossed and hope it fixes it enough to read it!

Filed under: Crafting, Crochet — Holly @ 21:29

I’m finally joining these squares together, here’s the Jan and Feb squares together. I’m using the Dudesssembly for it. It’s pretty neat, I can’t wait to have one row done so I can join the corners. Anyway, onto the pictures.

Made a group on Ravelry

I was goofin off on Ravelry today and made a group for all Charleston(ish) people… All tricounty area people! There’s a group on there for the folks that meet at Knit but I don’t ever get down there, the drives too far for me, but I’d still like to know who’s in my area. Here’s a link to the group of you’re on Ravelry. I’m sorting out my squares for my ‘08 blanket tonight, I’m going to number them and then start putting them together tomorrow, I hope. I’m going to use the Crochet Dudes essembly method.  It’s a PDF file and it looks way cool, I can’t wait to try it out. Then I want to get started on my ‘09 blanket squares! I’m so excited!

I almost forgot!

Filed under: Serger, crafts, Crafting, Sewing — Holly @ 22:17

I got a serger for xmas!! I haven’t “made” anything with her yet, but I’ve been playing around. Got a couple serger books on order, hopefully those will make life a little easier. I spent the first couple days very frustrated because my bottom thread kept breaking. Oh well, live and learn! I love her! My SergerBless this mess! Please excuse all the crap on my sewing table, lol. I wouldn’t know what to do if it were ever actually clean. :p

I’mmm bbaacckk!

I’m working a new job, a doctors office, which is far more relaxed then Wal-Mart. I might still be working wal-mart from time to time, but I have no idea. They have me on the schedule one week and not the next, so who knows. But hopefully I’ll get far more crafting done now, since I’ll be working fewer days for more pay! YAY! I’ll probably post some progress pics tonight, I finished all the squares for my 2008 blanket but I still haven’t put them together. I already have plans to do the 2009 blanket that is on Craftster and Ravelry, I’m so excited! I can’t decide if I want to do them in the colors I want my room (blue and brown) or in my favorite colors (purple and white). Here’s some pics of my Nov and Dec square… There’s more pics on my photobucket site.
