Ophelia update and NIN hat

Ophie is home now, we’re going to do some home care over the weekend and see how it goes. I got the impression that if she wasn’t a lot better by Monday they would give us the “euthanasia” talk. She’s on fluids with potassium, two antibiotics, and force feedings every four hours. She’s very weak, but she’s drinking a good bit of water it seems like, she went right for the bowl when I let her out of the cage and then right to the faucet in the bathroom (one of her favorite places to drink, they like to play in the water too.)
Here’s a pic of my poor baby, doesn’t she look sick?

I finished Michaels NIN hat while I was waiting on the Vet to call today. I’m not sure if I’ll give him this one or make another one, I’m not very pleased with it. I guess it’s ok for the first time doing any kind of multi-color work, but it’s not very stretch and it’s a bit big on my head (and I’m pretty sure we’re about the same size). I want to try the pattern in the round too, so I think I’ll start another one tonight. I’ll be at home with Ophie a lot, at least over the weekend, if not longer. Here’s a pic or two.

Oh, in all the excitement (haha, please note the sarcasm) of Thanksgiving and Ophie being sick, I forgot to mention I got in a car wreck! Someone hit us in S’ville, no one was hurt, nothing major, just one more thing on the list of shit that shouldn’t happen. Here’s a pic of my car and his. It’s kind of funny, his car was much worse then mine. That’s what he gets for hitting me, I say!

Belated Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope everyone had a wonderful day! I know I did, despite not shopping until yesterday morning (hopefully I’ll never be doing that again. I never knew so many people went shopping on Thanksgiving day.), it was quite interesting to thaw two turkeys and cook them in 8 hours but we did it!

Our cat, Ophelia, has been sick at the vets since Tuesday and she’s not getting much better. They’re not sure if she has fatty liver, cancer, some other sort of infection. They can’t tell us whether there’s a good outlook or bad. The bill is well over $400 and they want to do exploratory surgery, which might not do any good at all. Another option is bringing her home and try to do care here, but there’s no telling if she’ll only get worse or better. It looks like the best option is to bring her home and see how she does. I’m hoping and praying it doesn’t come to putting her down. I have no issues force feeding her twice a day and giving her fluids, but I don’t want her to live like that if she’s in pain. But enough of my rambling for now, I need to go get ready to pick her up.
